This year's National Day Parade was held in many locations. Queenstown YEC is offered a pair of tickets for the actual parade at the Padang while the others are offered entry to our district decentralised parade held at Bishan. National Day was a joyous occasion and we spotted many Singaporeans wearing our national colours, RED and WHITE.

Songs and dances greeted our YEC members at Bishan, the location for one of the decentralised parade this year. Some of the older CC members told us that Queenstown Stadium was the venue for many of decentralised parades in the 1970s and early 1980s. We spotted familiar television stars such as Michelle Chong!

Performances at Bishan

Over at the Padang, mobile display of SAF military equipment was one of the most impressive segments. We felt immense pride for our national servicemen who had spent much effort in maintaining and polishing the vehicle for this event. It was a bit disappointing we could not see the fireworks. Nevertheless, it was a good experience mingling with fellow Singaporeans singing various national songs and watching electrifying performances.
